So this is the moment. I was grilling a steak while my spouse and I were laughing at a friendship that began between our dog and a duck we named Walter…..and it just hit us. This is not a vacation. You know….the seven days you plan for all year, pay too much for, and stress yourself out planning to squeeze as many activities as possible before you return home. You need a vacation because of your vacation….a month to deal with the laundry and the credit card is max’d. This was not what we were doing. We had no plan, no schedule, no return date and no idea where we were headed. We didn’t know anything other than watching a dog and a duck play together was hilarious. We ended up at that same spot for five weeks. We fell in love with life again, with adventure, with nothingness, with the grill, and of course, Walter, the duck.
